Traditional home cooked quality food is served in our bar & dinning area daily from 12 noon until 8 pm. 12 noon until 7 p.m on Sundays when we serve a traditional Sunday roast with a HUGE Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings.
Our menu changes regularly using Cumbrian produce according to the season. Our steak & Cumbrian ale pie is encased in 'proper' short crust pastry and our beer battered fish, fresh chips & mushy peas takes some beating! We feel our menu has traditional choices, honestly priced.
We now have a doggie menu & doggie bar snacks for our canine guests & visitors!!
The oak paneling and traditional fireplace in the bar have remained unchanged since the 18th century. This is a lovely room and you can really get a sense of the prominent role the Inn played in this important market town all those centuries ago.
There is plenty of information available for you to plan your visits to the many local visitor attractions which can be found in the area.
Meet some of our colourful locals & join in the 'banter' at the bar over a couple of pints of Cumbrian ales, especially Friday early doors!
